Photography was as a necessity as part of country journalism.
And the more photography I did, the more I grew to love taking photos, especially when my photos were on front or back pages.
But it was sports photography and the coming of the digital SLR camera that hooked me. I amazed myself at the shots I got at football, motorcycle racing and cross-country eventing for horses.
